15th annual Holiday Gift Gallery at Healdsburg Center for the Arts

CALL FOR ARTISTS 

HCA turns into a magical winter wonderland to showcase your work in the Holiday Gift Gallery. The Gift Gallery provides an opportunity for creators of  high-quality, functional, wearable, decorative and gift-appropriate crafts in ceramic, glass, metal, jewelry, paper, textiles, wood art; books; and small format paintings or photographs to offer their works for the gift giving season.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Gift Gallery Dates: November 25 – December 31, 2016
Gift Gallery Opening Reception: Saturday, November 25
Application Deadline: September 30, 2016 DEADLINE EXTENDED: 10/10/16
Notification of Acceptance: October 15
Deliver Accepted Work: Monday, November 21
Pickup Unsold Work: Monday, January 2, 2017

Gift Gallery Terms & Conditions

Fees: 

Jury Fee: $40 per non-HCA Member Artist*, $35 per HCA Member Artist
Jury fee for authors submitting books: $20 non-members, $12 Members

Storage Fee : Art not picked up on the pickup dates is subject to a $15 weekly fee.

Eligibility

All artists from the region (Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake counties) are welcome to submit their original work in all mediums.

Submissions are being accepted ON-LINE ONLY. 

Terms & Conditions or General Release of Event

  • Jury selection will be conducted from uploaded images of artist work.
  • Images uploaded with the application should be no larger than 1.5MB.
  • Work must be designed and created by the submitting artist.
  • Healdsburg Center for the Arts reserves the right to exclude work that cannot be physically accommodated or pose a risk of any kind.
  • HCA will take reasonable care with the works, but insurance is the responsibility of the artist. HCA and its representatives will not assume liability for damage or loss.
  • Accepted artists agree to allow submitted photographs and any photographs of work taken by HCA to be used for promotional purposes.
  • Accepted artists agree to allow photographs of the artist taken by HCA to be used for promotional purposes.
  • A 40% commission will be retained by HCA on all fine craft and art sales, 30% commission on book sales.
  • Checks for sales during the Gift Gallery are mailed to artists within 15 days after the month the sale occurred.

OPTIONAL:

  • Accepted artists interested in providing a live demonstration of their process please indicate on the application.
  • Artists are welcome to assist in the gallery during the Gift Gallery, please indicate interest on the application.

Accepted Work

• Jury Results: You will be notified by email from info@healdsburgcenterforthearts by October 15th, 2016.

• Deliver artwork: Monday, November 21, due to our tight exhibition installation schedule work must be delivered or dropped-off by this date. Drop off time starts at 12 noon and goes until 6pm. Any shipping is at the costs of the artist, and shipping details will be given upon acceptance to the show.

Publicity

Accepted artists names will be included on the Healdsburg Center for the Arts website, Facebook invitation, email newsletter, press releases, and on printed collateral. Publicity will also include on-line event calendar listings.

Accepted artists are expected to promote the exhibition through their websites, social media and to their mailing lists. Healdsburg Center for the Arts will provide artists with website and Facebook links, an electronic exhibition graphic and printed postcards.
